Rehema for Kids (formerly Rehema Ministries,) and In Step Foundation were founded simultaneously in 2006 by two couples that God brought together. They discovered a shared heart and passion for Africa and its children. Co-Founders Ron and Joyce Panzero and Jeff and Carla Picicci chose to step out in faith and live out their shared motto of “No Regrets!”
Our first baby was found abandoned in a cornfield in Kenya on a cold, rainy day in July of 2006. She still had her umbilical cord attached. Jeff and Carla named her Rehema Grace. Rehema means Mercy in Swahili. On that day, Rehema for Kids was born.
Rehema for Kids focus over the last 12 years has impacted the lives of nearly 200 Kenyan children. Rehema for Kids raises funds and awareness to rescue children in Kenya and provide for all that they need to rebuild a new life. One of the main ways we accomplish this is through our partnership with In Step Foundation in Kenya.
Since the beginning, In Step Co-Founders, Jeff & Carla Picicci, along with dedicated Kenyan staff and volunteer missionaries, continue to grow a holistic environment that ensures each rescued child receives the love, care, medical attention, activities and education needed to reach his or her full potential. Every element of this work creates a huge ripple effect.
